On March 29, Rensselaer Trustee T.J. Wojnar Jr. ’80, vice president of corporate strategic planning at ExxonMobil, met with President Shirley Ann Jackson to celebrate ExxonMobil’s generous and ongoing support of Rensselaer. To date, ExxonMobil’s lifetime giving is $3,308,473.07.

“On behalf of ExxonMobil and our generous employees, I am proud to support Transformative: Campaign for Global Change,” said Wojnar. “These funds will help Rensselaer bridge the gap between students’ needs and available financial aid, and provide world-class research and educational experiences for the next generation of resilient and inspired leaders.”

The celebration was marked by the presentation of a check representing the $151,053.39 given on behalf of the ExxonMobil Foundation’s Educational Matching Gift Program, which has annually matched ExxonMobil employee gifts to Rensselaer on a three-to-one basis since 2001. In 2017, together with its employees and retirees, ExxonMobil Corporation, its divisions and affiliates, and the ExxonMobil Foundation provided $202 million in contributions worldwide, of which $68 million was dedicated to education.
