The campus community is invited to join Rensselaer hockey fans at the Heffner Alumni House on Saturday, Feb. 14, for a popular men’s ice hockey tradition—the Big Red Freakout Ice House.
Ice House begins at 4:30 p.m., as fans gather for a pre-game buffet dinner and pep rally, a visit from Puckman and the RPI Pep Band, and face-painting and “tattoo” services provided by the Red & White Student Organization. Shuttles will be available to transport fans to the Houston Field House for the game. Fans are invited to return for a post-game reception with a cash bar, complimentary hot drinks, desserts, and snacks, and a chance to meet the team and coaching staff.
In addition to the usual festivities, this year marks the 20th anniversary of the 1994-95 ECAC Hockey Championship team, as well as the 30th anniversary of the 1984-85 National Championship hockey team. Members of both teams will be in attendance at Ice House, and will be recognized between periods of the RPI vs. Yale hockey game.
For more information and to register for the Ice House, visit their website by Feb. 6, or contact at Peter Pedone or (518) 276-6061. All Rensselaer hockey fans are welcome.
