T.J. Wojnar Jr. ’80 and President Shirley Ann Jackson hold a check from ExxonMobil highlighting the corporation’s lifetime giving to date.

On May 3, T.J. Wojnar Jr. ’80, president of the ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company, met with President Shirley Ann Jackson to celebrate ExxonMobil’s generous and ongoing support of Rensselaer. To date, ExxonMobil’s lifetime giving is $3,138,783.

“On behalf of ExxonMobil and our generous employees, I am proud to support Rensselaer’s unwavering commitment to providing world-class research and educational experiences,” said Wojnar. “These funds support the people, platforms, programs, and partnerships working to address the global challenges of our time.”

The celebration was also marked by the presentation of a check in the amount of $154,940.16 on behalf of
the ExxonMobil Foundation’s Educational Matching Gift Program, matching annual ExxonMobil employee gifts
to Rensselaer on a three-to-one basis since 2001. In 2016, together with its employees and retirees, ExxonMobil Corporation, its divisions and affiliates, and the ExxonMobil Foundation provided $242 million in contributions worldwide, of which $72 million was dedicated to education.
