In honor of Earth Day, members of EcoLogic, Rensselaer’s environmental student organization, plans to host the annual EarthFest on Friday, April 24, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Rensselaer Union patio.

The event is free and open to the public. This year, EarthFest will feature information and displays from several student organizations and local environmental groups, food, and more. Signature EarthFest offerings include: free smoothies, tie-dying, paint-a-pot, pot-a-plant, and recycled make-your-own notebooks.

To date, Habitat for Humanity, the Student Sustainability Task Force, Design for America at Rensselaer, Society of Environmental Professionals, Terra Café, Energy, and Environment—The Vasudha Living & Learning Community, and SustainAffinity, will participate in this year’s event. Diana Ahrens, who serves as president for EcoLogic, noted that the group has also invited additional environmental and volunteer-focused clubs to participate.

EarthFest is part of a series of Rensselaer programs and events planned for the week of April 20 in celebration of Earth Week.
