Wet InkThe new music composer/performer collective Wet Ink produces some of the most current and “living” American music today. Based in New York City, they have grown into a formidable vehicle for new music as a presenting organization and as two performing ensembles. The music of Wet Ink takes its vernacular from the European avant-garde, but views it through a distinctly New York lens—at times visceral and unrelenting, but still maintaining a complexity and richness in structure and sound. The members of the ensemble collaborate in a band-like fashion—writing, improvising, and preparing pieces together over long stretches of time.

The talk begins at 7 p.m. in the Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC) Theater
