Nick Borkowski returned an interception for 75 yards for a touchdown, while Andrew Franks put Rensselaer on top for good with a 25-yard field goal with seven minutes remaining to lead the Engineers to a 31-28 win over Union in the 65th Dutchman Shoes Trophy Game. Rensselaer finished the regular season with a 6-5 overall record, and a 4-3 mark in Liberty League play. The Dutchman Shoes trophy has been awarded to the winner of this annual college football game between Rensselaer and Union College since 1950, making it the oldest football rivalry in the state of New York.
