Next week, students from across campus will be campaigning for positions in student government during the annual Grand Marshal Week (GM Week) celebration.
This year’s theme is “RPI In Orbit.” A variety of Rensselaer Union clubs will be setting up tables on the Union Patio all week. The GM Week committee will be selling T-shirts and food, and there will be exhibitions from the Juggling Club.
Candidate debates hosted by RPI TV will be held on Monday, April 11, from 2 to 4 p.m. and Wednesday, April 13, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the McNeil Room in the Rensselaer Union. Alpha Phi Omega’s annual Meanest Man on Campus debate will precede the candidate debates on April 13 from 5 to 7 p.m.
The annual Provost BBQ will be held April 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with food served by faculty from noon to 2 p.m. on the quad behind Commons Dining Hall (bad weather location is the Armory). There will be games, live bands, a performance by the Jazz Ensemble, and more.
Voting will occur at multiple locations on campus all day April 14.
The GM Week Finale will be April 15 from 6 to 10 p.m. in the Rensselaer Union. The event features live bands, black-light entertainment, free food, and the announcement of election results, including the 151st Grand Marshal and 127th President of the Union.
