Rensselaer has been ranked as one of the 10 Best Business Schools in New York by College Choice, a leading authority in college and university rankings and resources. Rensselaer ranked third on the 2016 list after New York University and Cornell University.
“Rensselaer’s Lally School of Management has produced graduates who work for Facebook, Google, Goldman Sachs, and more. Getting your bachelor in business at Lally School of Management can place you in an excellent position for highly competitive jobs,” stated College Choice in its description of Rensselaer.
“We are delighted to rank among the top three business schools in New York state,” said Thomas Begley, dean of the Lally School of Management. “It is a welcome acknowledgement of the quality of education we provide to students who, at Rensselaer, have the opportunity to interact with leading scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs, access powerful computing resources, and apply cutting-edge management research to solve real-world business challenges.”
Criteria for the College Choice rankings, gleaned from the individual school websites, U.S. News & World Report rankings, and such sites as the National Center for Education Statistics, included academic reputation and student retention, a school’s business school program features and national rankings, tuition, and internship opportunities.
College Choice noted that in pursuing the Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Management, Rensselaer students take courses like Managerial Finance; Strategy and Policy; and Computer Information Systems, while studies in philosophy, music, anthropology, and other areas allow them to have a unique interdisciplinary focus.
The Lally School of Management was founded in 1963 as an integral part of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the first technological university in the United States.
