On October 13, a new capital campaign will be launched, designed to position Rensselaer for leadership in its third century. As the anticipation and excitement builds toward this pivotal moment in Rensselaer’s history, President Shirley Ann Jackson is hosting several events for the campus community to celebrate the campaign launch. She will share how the campaign will provide crucial support for student scholarship, empower the faculty, and equip and modernize the campus.

Students are invited on Monday, October 9, to come together to enjoy a celebratory pre-campaign launch ice cream social. The event will take place at the Rensselaer Union from 4 to 6 p.m. and will include free make-your-own sundaes. All attendees will receive a pennant and a campaign T-shirt to wear during the campaign launch weekend.

President Jackson will provide an update on the campaign launch celebrations that will take place in conjunction with Reunion & Homecoming weekend. She will meet and mingle with students.

There is no charge to attend, and no RSVP is necessary for the event.

On Wednesday, October 11, President Jackson invites faculty, staff, students, and the entire Rensselaer community to a barbecue to celebrate this pivotal moment in Rensselaer’s history. The Campuswide Campaign Barbecue will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on ’86 Field. All attendees will a campaign T-shirt and pennant to celebrate the campaign launch.

Event will be held rain or shine. There is no charge to attend, and no RSVP is necessary.

On Friday, October 13, the campus community is invited to watch a fireworks display to mark the official campaign kickoff. For the best viewing location, take a campus shuttle to Blitman Commons to watch from the Approach. Cupcakes will be provided.

On Saturday, October 14, the celebration will continue at FanFest at the East Campus Athletic Village. Cheer on the Engineers football team as they take on Ithaca.
